Peak Bluebell


 Carpets of bluebells in our local woodlands - always such an improbable sight and yet they are there every year.


It's taken a while for them to reach this pitch of blueness.


And, at last, we were able to take a short break, up the Suffolk coast to Aldeburgh.  From there we went twice to walk around the bird reserve at Minsmere.  



Deep reed-beds in every direction, warblers in full song and the eerie booming of the bittern.


Something we never expected to see in broad daylight: that's a large adult fox. Click on the picture to see it better.
